Chris say:
Thank you for taking the time to make this firmware, it adds so much value to my DVD player.

I have a problem though - the file browser is not properly ordering the files by filename. For example:
Entourage - S03E19 - Title
Entourage - S03E20 - Title
Entourage - S03E18 - Title

Episode 18 should come before 19 and 20, no? Is there a bug in the sorting method, or is there a button to change the sort filter?

Stonefish say:
@Brent: yes this upgrade works with the F7. I've just tried it on mine, because I saw that the .bin filename is the same as the one shown in my firmware - DVP5990_37.BIN.

To vb6rocod, BIG BIG thanks. Wonderful job!!

Stealth3si say:
Each of my DVDs contain various video files that are 4:3 and 16:9 and it's repetitive to go to settings menu and change the settings.

I would appreciate it if you would consider this, e.g., make a program to allow "picture display" control on a key.

TIA

Stealth3si say:
vb6rocod, could you update the firmware to make a button switch between the three available picture display options? i.e. "4:3 letterbox," "4:3 pan & scan," and "16:9."

vb6rocod say:

I bought a DVP5990/37 in the USA.
I now live in Europe and connected my DVP to a 110/220 voltage converter, since the DVP has a 110V-only power supply.

Turned out it was the ISO setting in CDBurnerXP program I was using. It was Level 1 (8+3) I changed it to 9660::1999 unrestricted and all was good.

Thought I would put it in case someone else was having the same trouble.

Supreme2k say:
You cannot add functions to the firmware that aren't supported by the chipset. That means: No blu-ray, no 264, no Xbox 360 emulation, and so on. You can basically only do interface enhancements (menus, navigation, folder icons).
